What is a Home River Bioblitz?
Join us for this free event, welcome to all ages.
A global community science event where people can explore the biodiversity of your local rivers!
A bioblitz is an event that focuses on documenting the animals, plants, and fungi in a specific area over a short period of time.
Like a nature scavenger hunt, a bioblitz offers exciting opportunities for all ages and experience levels to gain knowledge and hone skills in their favorite areas of nature.
We invite everyone to join us on Saturday, September 23. Whether you stay only one hour or all day, participants are welcome to explore the area on a self-guided hike or join a group of volunteer scientists and community members!
This is the fourth year the worldwide event will take place with participation in over 83 locations across five continents. Records collected on iNaturalist will add to an overall understanding of riverine ecology around the world, generating valuable data for science and conservation.
